ONLY FULLY ACCREDITED TAEKWONDO SCHOOL OF THE REGION

ABOUT OUR CLUB

Tae Kwon Do Academy is the region’s only internationally recognized and fully accredited school of Tae Kwon Do.

Unlike self-governed schools and federations, TKDA is fully credentialed by the main governing boards of traditional and Olympic Tae Kwon Do both in America and internationally. Students therefore are able to compete locally or on the international stage depending on their personal goals.

Family-owned and operated, its instructional team brings decades of experience to balance adherence to strict standards while emphasizing that family and community come first.

TKDA’s mission is to provide world-class instruction in a supportive environment that fosters each student’s growth, whether in their Special Needs programs or in their future international competition programs.

At TKDA students have the opportunity to go as far as their skill and drive take them.

WHY TAEKWONDO?

Tae Kwon Do training is a full-body workout that improves overall physical and mental health through an Eastern approach of balance in all things. Tae Kwon Do is the art of self defense that originated in Korea. It is recognized as one of the oldest forms of martial arts in the world, reaching back over 2,000 years. The name was selected for its appropriate description of the art: Tae (foot), Kwon (hand), Do (art).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a good age to start TKD?

Students benefit from training from a young age usually beginning in the early elementary years but many students are able to begin training at pre-school age in appropriate class settings.

There have been many health benefits found including enhancement in core strength, balance, and mental focus in adults that state as late as their Senior years. Older adults that state training find an increase in overall quality of life from being a part of a multi-generational program.

What are the benefits?
Do you have programs for special needs students?

Most of TKDA’s Special Needs students participate in their general programs with allowances made for ability and needs. By mainstreaming its classes and not creating separate groups TKDA emphasizes one team, one family, and everyone moves forward together.

Do you have contracts?

TKDA does not believe in contracts. Students should be on the floor training out of a shear love of the art and their TKDA family.

Are classes limited?

Students may participate in as many skill and age appropriate classes as they can make a week. It benefits all when students train harder and become better.
